Remake of Mutthaaramkunnu PO
Starring Rajpal Yadav, Om Puri, Nargis, Asrani, Jagadeesh, The Great Khali (WWE Fame) etc.
Directed by T.K Rajeev Kumar
First of all, let me say, T.K. Rajeev Kumar is trying to become Priyadarshan.
One can clearly see the Priyan touch throughout his hindi movies, be the cast, or the situations or dialogues.
But Rajeev sir, Priyan has a good support in bollywood, and you dont have that...
thats the problem...
Look at Priyan's Malaamal Weekly, this film Kushti also takes place in the similar village-like place with bhola-bhala people...

Rajeev had done the remake of 'Ee Parakkumthalika' in 2009, with Govinda and Rajpal Yadav, titled 'Chal Chala Chal', and it went unnoticed at the box office.
Now, he is again trying his luck in hindi industry, this time with 'The Great Khali' in the movie's cast.
The Great Khali's scenes are nice, obviously, but it couldnt save the entire movie, which, hence went to be a dramatic mix of cliches.

Serioulsy, this kind of movies are outdated in bollywood, and Rajeev sir, if you want to be a Priyadarshan, then do some movie with Akshay Kumar, with 5-6 songs by Pritam or RDB, girls dancing in 2-piece green or yellow shining dresses, Akki doing senseless comedies etc...
Coming to Kushti, there is nothing much in the movie, except, i noticed, a love tune is played each time Rajpal Yadav sees the heroine, i liked it a lot....
Rajpal Yadav's love scenes are mostly horrible, but he showed some improvement towards the ending of the film.
Few months ago, i had seen Rajpal Yadav performing sincerely in the micro budgeted film, 'Hello, Hum Lallan Bol Rahe Hain' and i liked his performance in that movie.
But, he is almost wasted in the movie, he looks as if he doesnt know wat to do.
Nargis has nothing much to do, other than running here and there with a smile in the first half, and sitting with a sad face in the second half.
Sharat Saxena and Om Puri have done their roles with complete justice, but the roles are too cliched.
Jagadeesh is throughout the movie, he hasnt got much to do other than to support others.
Khali has done the role with atmost artificiality, i think it was needed for the role to an extent.
Coming to music department, nothing much to say, i said earlier a love tune was really good but no song of that tune was there in the movie.

On the whole, Kushti is a sincere, but poor show, and let me blame the script writer for this.

4.5/10
