Aakrosh 2010 Music Review

Aakrosh Poster

Director: Priyadarshan
Cast: Ajay Devgan, Akshay Khanna, Bipasha Basu, Paresh Rawal, Reema Sen
Lyrics: Irshad Kaamil
Music: Pritam

We expect purely situational tracks from a movie like Aakrosh, after seeing the sepia-toned, dark theatrical trailer of this movie.
But then the name ‘Pritam’ is seen, and we expect something then.
Well, there are 5 original tracks, along with one song coming in 2 more versions and another in 1 more version.

Isak Se Meetha- Kalpana Patowary & Ajay Jhingran .
The opening song, an item number with Sameera Reddy dancing doesn’t disappoint the listeners, the song is in the same genre of that ‘billo’ type songs, with people praising the ‘pole girl’ then and there…
An ok-ok track, may become a hit… The track comes as some other version and a remix later in the album.
6.5/10.

Saude Bazi- Anupam Amod :: Saude Bazi (Encore)- Javed Ali .Superbbbbb tracks!!! Loved the track from the beginning itself… The not-so conventional type singing, Both the versions, sung respectively by Anupam Amod and Javed Ali are equally superb!!! Surely going to be my favourite the coming days..
9.5/10.

Man Ki Mat- Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.
Another excellent track, Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan does it again!!! Brilliantly arranged, excellently performed by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, this is a gem for me!! Excellent lyrics also.
9/10.

Sasural Munia- Shreya Ghoshal .
Shreya Ghoshal’s solo number, another item song or dance song, seems to be.. Okay song, but it will be easily sidelined in the album due to the previous tracks.
5.5/10.

Ramkatha- Sukhwinder Singh.

The Ramkatha song, performed by Sukhvinder Singh is composed in a traditional manner, the genre of songs we can listen in Folk Dance competitions and all. The song may be used in some important situation of the movie.
7/10.

On the whole, Pritam is more into experiments nowadays, we can clearly know it from ‘Saude Bazi’ of this album. Good work Pritam, .
My picks are obviously the 2 versions of ‘Saude Bazi’ and ‘Man Ki Mat’.
Overall rating is 7/10.
