Action Replayy Music Review

Poster

Director: Vipul Amrutlal Shah
Cast: Akshay Kumar, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Neha Dhupia, Kirron Kher etc.
Music: Pritam
Lyrics: Irshad Kaamil

Too many songs, so confusing!!
This could be the one-line to describe this album.Vipul Amrutlal Shah’s latest venture in ‘Eastman colour’ has 9 original songs, and 3 remixes.
First of all, let me say, the first trailer has made a sort of curiosity in my mind, it seems good!Obviously the expectations would be high, considering a Pritam in his good form, and the fact that Vipul Shah has a good sense of music, which is reflected in his films, except ‘Singh is Kinnnng’. We had some excellent tracks in Namastey London (Himesh Reshammiya), some good tracks in London Dreams (Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy). So, do the songs of Action Replayy satisfy the listeners??
Here is my review of Action Replayy songs.

Zor Ka Jhatka - Daler Mehndi & Richa Sharma
The opening number is, in all terms, is fantastic, excellent, and superrrrrbbbb!!! Daler Mehndi and Richa sharma carries out the track in a totally effortless manner, yet it turns to be an extremely likeable track. The lyrics are good. Richa Sharma’s drunkardinsh voice deserves special mention. Big hit, for sure!!
9/10

O Bekhabar - Shreya Ghoshal
This solo of the 4 time National Award winner, Shreya Ghoshal is a feel-good track, The prelude of the song, with her voice in the background is very nice.. With a 70 model love video to boast of, this song has the potential to become a big hit, in TV and Radio.
7.5/10

Nakhre - Francois Castellino
The starting portion is interesting, and the dialogue ‘Aawaaaaaaz,, Neeche!’ is damn good. The song is anti-ladki song, Strangely, it has become a tradition to have anti-ladki, anti-shaadi type of songs in his movies. Om Mangalam Mangalam, Zor Ka Jhatka and now this… Irshad Kamil’s lurics is nice and funny at places.
7/10

Chhan Ke Mohalla - Sunidhi Chauhan & Ritu Pathak
The starting beats and the song seems like a Vidyasagar song, till the line ‘Chhan Ke Mohalla’ comes. Ritu Pathak’s voice is nice. Im really unable to imagine how the video of this song be. May be some item-like song with Neha Dhupia on screen… Don’t know… Anyway, average song.
6/10

Tera Mera Pyaar - Karthik, Mahalaxmi Iyer & Antara Mitra
Another stunning song by Karthik. Instantly likeable, it will also grow in repeated listenings. ‘Tu Khwaab Hai Tu..’ portion is so beautiful. The flute is used excellently in the interlude. Very good track.
8.5/10

Dhak Dhak Dhak - Mika
I like Mika Singh, but this song somewhat irritates me to an extent. The starting Chinese-like music and all were good, but the way he pronounces “Kyun” and “Haan” seems so irritating this time. The rap in the middle is fine.
6.5/10

Luk Chup Jaana - Tulsi Kumar & KK
Pritam trying a ‘Khanabadosh’??? I felt like that when I listened to this. Thankfull, Tulsi Kumar sings better, pretty well. Not so interesting song, but still ok. KK sings most of the portions.
6/10

I Am Dog Gone Crazy - Suraj Jagan
Suraj Jagan comes back to his style of singing, after a somewhat different ‘Sadka Kiya’. Rock-type voice suits him best. Interesting song, the lyrics are also nice… The song is not as long as the other songs of the album.
8/10

Baki Main Bhool Gayi - Shreya Ghoshal
Expected a kind of funny song here, with the title ‘I forgot the remaining’. Of course, the ‘Baaki mein’ portion is the excellent portion of the song. The song goes boring at times, the sounds during the interlude were somewhat boring..
6.5/10

Zor Ka Jhatka (Remix) - Master Saleem & Richa Sharma (Remixed by Tiger Style)
Now, I don’t usually review remixes separately, but this is sung by my favourite Saleem, and is said to be a ‘Remix’. Now, who is this ‘Tigerstyle’?? I saw their names in Challa song of Crook lately, but I don’t understand what they are remixing. I couldn’t find much of differences between the original and the remix. Master Saleem is awesome, im now praying for this song to be included in the movie!!
8.5/10

Three more remixes, nothing special to mention. One is by Tigerstyle, no much difference. The other two have some extra beats and all..

On the whole, There are a bunch of songs that will grow on you, but I doubt whether all these will be included in the film or not!!
Good attempt from Pritam.

Overall rating is 7/10
