Crook; Its good to be bad Movie Review

Poster

Director: Mohit Suri
Cast: Emraan Hashmi, Neha Sharma, Arjan Bajwa etc

The only interesting thing in Crook is it is a new movie. The sole reason to watch the movie is the excitement of watching a newly released movie. But, sadly the movie disappoints the viewer. We expect a kind of minimum standard for a movie when it comes from Bhatt camp. Considering the quality of movies which have come out from them in the last few years, One will expect some quality, and Crook never lives upto the expectations. Mohit Suri, the director who gave us Kalyug, Zeher, Awarapan, Raaz-TMC etc fails to impress the viewers this time.
The performances are fine, the new girl Neha Sharma is an invention. She does her part well. Emraan Hashmi was also very good. The fat guy (Imran Khan’s friend in I Hate Luv Storys) got a good role to perform. Arjan Bajwa was good. Rest of the cast was okay. But, a bunch of good performances doesn’t make a good fiom. This shows Mohit Suri’s skill in direction, and weekness in writing. His previous films were adaptations of foreign films, so he directed them well. But when it comes to an original concept, he failed to write a tight screenplay.

The music by Pritam is strictly okay, the ‘Challa’ track stands out. On the whole, Crook disappoints.
“It is good to be bad, but not this worse…”

4.5/10
