Endhiran Movie Review

Poster

Director: Shankar
Cast: Rajinikanth, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Danny Denzongpa, Karunas, Santhanam etc
Music: AR Rahman

Ok, so I watched Endhiran, from here, Bangalore...
I did not have much interest in the movie before the release, don't know why...
But then, my friends who watched it told the movie is very good, so i did not want to miss a good movie!!

Well, the movie is, indeed a good attempt from the director. The gigantic budget of 160 cr. looks somewhat fishy, but forget about all those, the movie is good. It has the emotional moments, funny moments, action sequences, all packed well. The main thing missing in the movie is the ‘Punch’ which is supposed to be there in a Rajinikant movie. Well, the characters are not the ones who crack punch dialogues, like the ones in his previous outings like Padayappa or Sivaji.

The movie is technically brilliant, especially towards the second half.
In the first half, there are some gags in the GFX, to point out one, the fire scene.

The Rajnikanth is a wonder!!! The iron-man, at his 60+ age, is doing magic on screen!!! He is wonderful in all aspects.
Aishwarya Rai is good, she does her part well. The remaining cast was okay, Santhanam and Karunas were wasted.
Danny Denzongpa was good at his role, we can’t expect an aged Professor to behave like typical tamil villains.

The only drawback of the movie is the music. The below average tracks, though sounded okay on screen, with stunning visuals, is otherwise burden for ears. Seriously Rahman needs to re-invent himself. Take a break, Rahman. And compose something worth the hype, next time.

The GFX team does a very good job. Cinematography was equally good. And this is not a movie which we need to watch without brains. We can watch this with our brains itself, no illogical things. It just shows the level science can go.

The common thing in most of Shankar's movies is, that they open a window for dreaming. In 2005, I day-dreamt of a super-hero fighting against the evils of the society, and now I can dream of a time, when our cars are driven by Robots, and Robots work in the mines and underground waters and other such areas, which are dangerous for humans. However, I don’t want a Robot to fall in love with my daughter. So, emotionless Robots are better. Right??
;)

7.5/10
