Jennifer's Body Movie Review

Poster

Director: Karyn Kusama
Cast: Megan Fox, Amanda Seyfried, Adam Brody

There are certain subjects we can see in movies, which never make us bored, if executed properly.
Two of them are horror, and love. Yes, we can watch a love story with at most passion, if it is executed well, and we can watch a horror movie with a higher heartbeat, if it is good enough to make us scared.
People like to be scared about something on screen, and this is the ultimate success of horror movies.

And some movies come in this established manner: “Old wine in new bottle” which is always a delight.
It is the same case with Jennifer’s Body. The concept of innocent girl turning to man-eater is centuries old, but the makers have somehow managed to make it an almost interesting stuff, it is partly because of acting skills, partly the skin show and partly the brain-chilling moments( even though they are very few.)

So, this not-so innocent, naughty Jennifer is turned into a man-eater after she was offered to some evil demon, by a music band for their success. And she eats some of her classmates, and her best friend kills her (I really wonder here, how can somebody kill a cannibal who is already dead??) as she tries to eat that friend’s boyfriend.

The stoy has nothing in it, I am not calling it utter crap, just because of the effort the makers took for this.
The movie completely lies on Megan Fox’s shoulders, who handles the movie safely.
Megan Fox is the one who plays Jennifer, and she is awesome in it.
Had her performance been average, the movie would have been a completely forgettable venture.
But luckily she handles her role with atmost perfection, and saves the movie from a great fall!

The music is awesome in the movie, there are couple of excellent tracks.
The camera is fine, so as the acting by the rest of the cast.
Special mention to the girl who played ‘Needy’, she was good in her scenes, especially the ones inside the asylum.

On the whole, the movie is almost a Megan Fox show, go watch it if you are her fan.
And watch it if you are not her fan, you will be!!

7/10
